Me, Now Uncle of Five!

Lest I forget to mention: Since the evening of October 22, 2008, I am now an uncle of five. Or, to put it less self-absorbed: My sister gave birth to a healthy baby boy. The gender ratio among my sister's children (boys/girls) has risen to a worrisome 4:1, much worse than the PR China! Then again, boys are much easier to play with - and to find gifts for...

Congratulations on your successful pentacular uncletude. It must have taken a lot of hard work and perseverance to see your way through it, so good on you.

And congrats to your sister, too. You couldn't have done it alone, after all, so she and her husband should get some some of the credit, too.

Many thanks for the congrats. As for "you couldn't have done it alone": As I said, self-absorbed...

Plus, to go more into the details: It's four nephews and one nice, produced by two sisters and their husbands within a 10-years period. So, no hard word for me.

Still, nicely done with the division of labor there. Although one may, in an ideal world, want another niece, they still have time and as long as you can continue to be a motivational speaker*, pushing them on to continued success.

* - That has absolutely nothing to do with anything, but is my favorite Chris Farley bit ever...

Well, well... uncletude is all nice and well, but I still want to go for the real thing...

Plus, I'm not so sure if I should follow your advice to encourage my sisters in terms of further reproduction efforts, since "DIE DEUTSCHEN STERBEN AUS!" is one of my favorite headlines.

As for your Chris Farley link: it doesn't work, at least not with my Germany based, MS contaminated PC. I blame it on copyright issues. I only managed to find an audio version on youtube, plus couple of cover versions. In fact, Chris Farley's "motivational speaker" seems to be getting as much cover versions on youtube as, say, Johnny Cash's "ring of fire". (Btw, if you ever come across a JC cover version on youtube worth listening to more than 20 sec, please tell me.)
